‘Cycles of Time’ is an instrument to measure and display time. It had some innovations compared to the classical sundial as it show four different cycles of time in 60, 20, 10 and 5 minutes. The special feature is that each cycles rotates in a different speed. The sundial fully functionates by sunlight and the rotation of the earth.

Time can be read by color codes. Aligned stripes of the same color represent a time cycle and a specific time notation. There are twelve codes which repeat each hour. Only the lower line will change color which stands for the cycle of hours.

In 2019 ‘Cycles of Time’ was  nominated for the ‘St. Joost Penning’, an annual award for graduates at AKV St. Joost Scool of Art and Design in Breda, The Netherlands.
